Michael e. tennenbaum - chairman

Michael E. Tennenbaum is the founder of Caribbean Capital & Consultancy Corp., a Puerto Rico-based private merchant bank that seeks to make active investments. Previously, he co-founded Tennenbaum Capital Partners, a leading specialty credit investor. Prior to TCP, he managed various departments of a major investment bank. He is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology under the Cooperative Program with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and an honorary Doctorate. He served as a member of the National Advisory Board of Georgia Tech and as a Trustee of the Georgia Institute of Technology Foundation, Inc., where he was Chairman of its Investment Committee; he currently is Trustee Emeritus. He is a member of the Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni of Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering and Founder of the Tennenbaum Institute for Enterprise Transformation. Mr. Tennenbaum received a Masters in Business Administration, with honors, from Harvard Business School; he was member of the Dean's Advisory Board of Harvard Business School and was a member of its Visiting Committee.

He is the Founding Chair of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico Legacy Council, is the Founder of the Hoover Institution Tennenbaum Program for Fact Based Policy, is a member of the Board of Overseers at the Hoover Institution, was a member of the Smithsonian Institution National Board, was a Member of its Investment Committee, and is Founder of the Tennenbaum Marine Observatories Network. He Founded the Tennenbaum Interdisciplinary Center at the Neuropsychiatric Institute at UCLA, and the Michael E. Tennenbaum Family Endowed Chair in Creativity Research.

He was member of the Secretary of the Navy Advisory Panel and a recipient of the Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award. Mr. Tennenbaum was a Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and was Chairman of its Investment Committee; he is now a Life Member of its Board of Governors. He was a Commissioner on the Intercity High-Speed Rail Commission for California and was Chairman of the California High-Speed Rail Authority; he also served as Chairman of the Special Financial Advisory Committee to the Mayor of Los Angeles. He previously served as Chairman of the Joffrey Ballet, and was a Director of The Los Angeles County Music Center.

Michael has two sons, Mark and Andrew, from a previous marriage, two grandsons, Christopher and Frederic, and a granddaughter, Lucy. 

 

Suzanne tennenbaum - Vice chairman, special projects

Mrs. Suzanne Tennenbaum is the Vice Chairman, Special Projects at Caribbean Capital & Consultancy Corp. Mrs. Tennenbaum previously worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Fluor Corporation and was admitted to the California Bar Association.

ANDREW FONG - PRESIDENT

Mr. Andrew Fong joined Caribbean Capital & Consultancy Corp. in 2016 as President.  Prior to joining CCCC, Mr. Fong worked as a consultant for Tennenbaum Capital Partners working closely with manufacturing sector portfolio companies.  Mr. Fong began his career at General Electric in the company's Operations Management Leadership Program where he held several operations management roles including Shop Floor Supervision, Engineering, Sourcing, Inventory Management, and Quality Control.  While at GE he became Greenbelt Certified and certified in Production and Inventory Management by APICS.

zuleyka mendoza ramos - general manager of CCCC affiliate Campo caribe

Ms. Zuleyka Mendoza Ramos joined Campo Caribe in January 2021. Prior to CC, Ms. Mendoza worked as the Purchasing and Corporate Relations Director for Empacadora Hill Brothers, where she also held the roles of Sales Manager, Quality Control Supervisor and Receiving Supervisor.

jonah helmer - head grower of CCCC affiliate Campo caribe

Mr. Jonah Helmer joined Campo Caribe (CC) in 2022. Prior to joining CC, Mr. Helmer worked as a Grower at Element Farms and Researcher in the Cornell Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) Group under the direction of Dr. Neil Mattson and Dr. Michael B. Timmons. Mr. Helmer has experience designing, growing in, and managing multiple types of crop production systems including greenhouse leafy greens and herbs, hydroponic strawberries, industrial and medical cannabis, and aquaponic production systems. As a researcher in the Cornell CEA Group, Mr. Helmer designed novel hydroponic and aquaponic production systems for strawberries. He hired and managed research assistants for experiments evaluating the efficiency of these novel production systems. Mr. Helmer published information on these systems for farmers on the Cornell CEA website (https://cea.cals.cornell.edu/crops/cea-strawberry-runner-propagation-for-deep-water-culture/). During his time at Element Farms, Mr. Helmer worked closely with the Head Grower to optimize water quality to increase arugula yields and implemented an integrated pest management system which reduced greenhouse pests by 20-50%.

Wendy Marquez - sr. General accountant

Ms. Wendy Marquez joined Campo Caribe in 2022 as Sr. General Accountant.  Prior to joining CC, Ms. Marquez worked as an audit and accounting professional for various accounting firms in Puerto Rico. Ms. Marquez has 15+ years of experience in public accounting.
